Salvation Army Band at st michael, chesterton july 18th 2010

Once again, the church of St Michael at Chesterton was blessed by having the Peterborough Salvation Army Band play at their Songs Of Praise service. The Salvation Army always go down well, and the general word after this event was that it was the best one yet! I think that this was the fourth time that they had played in our village church.

The Salvation Army was led by Bandmaster Martyn Hobbs,  and the programme of hymns chosen was as follows....

Thine Be The Glory    chosen by Betty Chambers.

Dear Lord and Father Of Mankind    chosen by Betty Harper.

How Great Thou Art    Chosen by Robin Peel

Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace    Chosen by Anne Hankins

Jesus Is Lord    chosen by Monica Sturgess

Great Is Thy Faithfulness   chosen by Audrey Wright

For The Beauty of the Earth    Chosen by Dorothy King

And Can It Be That I should Gain   Chosen by Chris Heaps

A nice packed church, a great band and super worship. A nice evening was rounded off with tea and home made cakes, which went down very well indeed.

The Salvation Army are such a blessing to so many people, and it was great to have them back again.
